You allowed Your only Son to literally be poured out so that we could be in a fully restored relationship with You. Thank You, Jesus, for giving your blood. Jesus and His followers used wine and unleavened bread, but it is simplest to use grape juice and whatever bread or crackers you have available. (You can even use water.) What’s important is focusing on the meaning of this spiritual symbol. Aside from spiritual reasons, a practical reason to take communion at home is to teach your kids more about it.
The prayer that you shared is a blessing. It helps a lot especially when my mind goes blank. I dont know about the others, but is it okay for children to take communion?
Who can give communion?
It would be up to you to decide if you want to do this or not. To guard the table means that the person giving the communion makes it clear that it is only for those who trusted in Christ as their Savior. Also, anyone who has in unrepentant sin is not to partake in communion. Generally speaking, in a family situation, this is not an issue. You would have to use your judgment.
Now i know i can take daily and anytime. I even gave my baby a little portion at this time of the coronavirus two days ago. I spoke to him and held him tight in my arms as he ate. We had a pastor at our church who said not to correct newbies who gave communion to their children, some a yr old. That always made me mad, now I know why.

I have my Communion cups at home. And in the name of Jesus, I loose God’s holy protection over me, my family and loved ones, and everything that pertains to us. I decree that my family and I and everything that pertains to us are hidden in the secret place of the Most High, for we dwell under the shadow of God’s wings. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to cover me and my family and everything that pertains to us.

There’s only so much you can explain in a quiet church service while the juice and bread are being passed out, and you don’t want your kids participating until they understand why. If you take communion at home regularly and carefully explain the reasons behind it, they’ll understand the meaning and importance of it. Then, they can truly experience the holiness of this time in a corporate worship setting. Jesus asked us to carry out this simple tradition to remember that He gave His life for our lives. That He was poured out to wash away our sins.
Is it okay to follow Jesus but not be called a Christian?
Jesus had this idea when He was having a special dinner with His disciples. The dinner was to remember something called Passover which had happened a long time before Jesus was born. It was a miraculous event where an angel of the Lord passed over the land and protected the Israelites from being killed by a mean king. Every year, the people would celebrate the Passover to remember how God had saved them. That’s what Jesus and the disciples were celebrating at the time of the first communion. Jesus promised to spare us eternal death and cover our sins by His own blood.
But, it is really nice to have an open Bible from what you read the Scriptures as you present communion. Please feel free to print this up and use it at home if you so desire. You can use a single cup from which each person drinks. Or, you can use separate cups that you have prepared beforehand. The Lord told Moses to apply the blood of the Passover lambs on the Israelite’s doorposts so they would be spared from the deadly plague.
There are many stories of miraculous healing testimonies there. Remember, Jesus went to the cross for Salvation And Our healing. Also, I reccomend a book called Gods Creatice Power for healing by Charles Capps. You can get it online for about 1.50.
It even says here kosher for Passover, so Jewish people who celebrate the Passover, upon which the Communion is based, use this type of bread. You can make it at home, I guess there are plenty of recipes that you can find, but this is what the unleavened bread looks like. You notice we usually put a couple of these pieces in the plate and people take a piece of this at the Communion. So you can use some of this at home, this is fine. In the early church, communion was more of a full-fledged meal instead of a small wafer and a little thimble of grape juice or wine. They would celebrate the feast together as a community and would sit down together.
